Overview

Paonias consists of four species, all found in the North and Central America. Three species are found in the United States. The Blinded Sphinx (Paonians excaecata) and Small-eyed Sphinx (Paonians myops) both are found in Indiana. The Huckleberry Sphinx (Paonians astylus) has not been reported in Indiana, but has been documented east and south of Indiana, including in Kentucky and Ohio.
