Etymology

Olceclostera: Pertaining to the genus Clostera in the family Notodontidae where the genus was formerly placed.

Overview

Olceclostera is a small genus of moths of about 37 known species found in the Americas, primarily in Central and South America. Three species have been recorded in the United States; Olceclostera seraphica occurs in the extreme southwestern states, O. indistincta which has only been found in Flordia, and the O. angelica which has been found throughout the eastern United States.
