Holcocera: Derived from the Latin holco meaning “furrow” and Greek cera meaning “wax.”

Overview

Holcocera is a small genus of taxonomically disputed moths in the family Blastobasidae. Some taxonomists place it into the Holcocera subfamily, while others do not recognize a subfamily and instead consider it part of the tribe Holcocerini.
