Drepana: Derived from the Greek word drepanon meaning “sickle.”

Arcuata: The Latin word arcuatus meaning “bent, bow-shaped, or arched.”

Floral Associates

Arched Hooktip caterpillars host on a few native trees including Birches (Betula spp.) which gives it one of its common names, the Masked Birch caterpillar. Adults do not feed.
